    Relaxed Screenings

Relaxed screenings are great for anyone who might benefit from a calmer environment; so lighting is softer, the volume is lower and staff are specially trained. They’re open to all but particularly ideal for people with an autism spectrum disorder, sensory or communication disorder, a learning disability or age-related impairments. The following screenings will be Relaxed Screenings.

Early Doors Screening for Over 55’s

Honeyland will be screening as part of Early Doors at the Showroom Cinema, at 11:00 on Thursday 6 June, with refreshments served in the cafe bar from 10am.

Sit back and enjoy coffee, cake and the big screen at Showroom Cinema for just £6 with a special all-in-one ticket for over 55s.

    Honeyland (85 minutes)
In a deserted Macedonian village, Hatidze, a middle aged beekeeper, lives in peace tending her bees and her bedridden mother — then a family moves in next door and everything changes.

The screenings include an introduction to the film.

Please note: pre-booking is always advisable for Early Doors screenings. To book tickets please visit the Showroom website here.

    Closed Captioned Screening

A Dog Called Money will be screening with Closed Captions as part of Subtitled Mondays at the Showroom Cinema, at 16:45 on Monday 10 June, Showroom Cinema 2.

A Dog Called Money (90 mins)
Accompany PJ Harvey and award-winning photographer Seamus Murphy on a journey through the creative process behind a PJ Harvey album, conceived by their travels around the globe.

    Kino Bambino

For Festival Pass holders attending the festival with a baby under the age of one, Doc/Fest has partnered with Showroom Cinema to programme its regular Kino Bambino screening on Monday 10 June at 11:00am.

Dive: Rituals in Water (72 minutes)
Believing that we all learn to swim while in the womb. Icelandic pioneer Snorri Magnusson has been patiently teaching babies to float and paddle for twenty five years. This buoyant, joyful portrait follows the sensitive Snorri as he lovingly instructs his smiling infant students to dive, sing and even stand upright on his palm.

To attend, you will be required to register and provide your child’s birth certificate at The Showroom Cinema prior to the screening. Pre-registration can be done via www.showroomworkstation.org.uk/kinobambino

    Films with English Subtitles throughout

Please note that all films marked as subtitled are done so at the discretion of the filmmaker. The festival cannot guarantee standard.
